Steve Rogers and his unity team, the uncanny avengers are back with a tie-in to the “Standoff” event.
The issue starts off with Quicksilver and Doctor Voodoo dealing with their own personal issues.
Personally I felt these were added just to make up pages and didn’t really add anything to the overall
issue and story. Now the beginning really plays on the theme of trying to feel part of the team, but it is
starting to get stale after being done before. The second half of the issue deals with the “Standoff”
storyline. Once again we get to see the Wrecker act like a third rate villain. This time he is running away
from something and that something is Pleasant Hill, the prison that turns villains into generic suburban
people. Deadpool and the uncanny avengers are able to stop him, but find another escapee after a quick
explanation of Wreckers actions. The escapee is Maria Hill. As the group talks, S.H.I.E.L.D soldiers attack
them and eventually lose the fight to Rogers unity team. Overall this issue was boring and only reveals
small fragments of story in the end. Uncanny Avengers issue seven, is just an excuse to get the team to
the area of Pleasant Hill and nothing more.
