Roman Reigns must leave with the Universal title at Summer Slam

If you are a WWE fan or at the very least a pro wrestling fan, you have heard the name Roman Reigns. The pro wrestling community as a whole or at least the majority of it can agree that Vince’s golden boy was a bit of a failed experiment at creating a top guy. He was pushed to the top way too fast and given to much right away before he can create any type of connection with the fans as a singles competitor.

Now since Wrestlemania, after he defeated the Undertaker and probably retired him, Roman has had major heat. Though it has been unclear if he leaned towards face or heel, crowds and fans online have been very vocal about their distaste for him. Now I will admit that he has been having a great feud with Braun Strowman, but he still isn’t the top guy Vince wants him to be. Until now that is. Over the past few episodes of RAW, creative have been building up a Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins team-up. These two guys had a great feud, that made it seem like they were never getting back together. On the 14th of August episode of RAW, the two finally did the Shield hand pose, got a tag title match for Summer Slam and made it clear that part of the band is back together.

In my opinion, it would be dumb for the two of them to lose against Sheamus and Cesaro. To an extent it makes the whole build up meaningless or at least underwhelming. So first off, the two must win the titles and if that occurs then Roman must win too. If Reigns does not win, then the whole Ambrose/Rollins storyline will not feel as complete. As much as we don’t want Reigns with the main title, it would be a great time to put him in the Shield with the title. Depending on if they are heels or faces, he gains more than he loses. If the Shield go heel, Roman can use it to his advantage and help give them more heat. The Samoan can also play the leader role, which has the potential to make fans hate him even more. If the Shield go face, the love for the stable itself and the Ambrose/Rollins duo can give Reigns a pass. What I mean is that, if the three are booked like they were, Reigns will be the quiet muscle who leads and makes the final decision. When playing that role, he almost works as an anti-hero, someone who will go against anything and anyone that goes against his “family”.

These thoughts and opinions might not be popular and this is my first gander at writing about pro wrestling, so please take it easy on me. For those of you reading and yelling at the screen because I want Reigns to win, please remember to take a moment and have fun with the product, let them tell you their story. In conclusion, I will say this once and only once, Roman Reigns must win the universal championship.

Thank you for reading and FUCK THE REVIVAL!

Now is the time for a Gamecube revival! (Open list) (0 submissions)

 Guess what... Gamecube revival!

On the 3rd of March 2017, Nintendo released their seventh home console after the failure of the Wii U. The console is still fresh. So fresh in fact that I still don’t have one myself, so I cannot give any opinions on how good the hardware or games are, but in this case I wont be writing about any of those. The fact of the matter is I wont even be talking about the Switch that much, instead I will be writing about a fan favorite. Ladies and gentlemen, the fan favourite I want to talk about is the Gamecube, the machine that gave us and is still giving us countless hours of fun. On this gem of a console we got games such as Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, Eternal Darkness and one of the greatest games of all time, Super Smash Bros: Melee. The Gamecube obviously had an amazing ecosystem of games, an excellent controller loved by many, but most importantly it provided gamers with a plethora of memories playing on their own or with friends.Gamecube revivalSince the Wii, Nintendo has been updating its E-Shop with great classic games as Virtual Console games. Between the three gaming companies, fans love the Virtual Console because it has the most old-school games. These retro games are not most advanced, but gamers love nostalgia. With the Wii and the Wii U, Nintendo have released games from the NES, SNES and other retro consoles. Over time gamers started asking for Gamecube games, but never got them.

"Over time gamers started asking for Gamecube games, but never got them"

Rumor has it that Nintendo are going to release these classic Gamecube games for the Switch and honestly, I believe this is the best move for them. Not only is it the best possible move, but it is also the best time. Anybody can tell me that Nintendo should have released them on Wii U, in hopes of saving it, but I disagree. In my opinion the U was doomed from the start and holding on the gold mine for the next console was smart. With the PS4 and Xbox One having control of the console market, Nintendo must bust out their big guns in order to get fans to invest in a Switch. Yes of course the old-school fans will always buy the Nintendo products, but what about the fans who have a PS4 or XO, why should they buy a machine that isn’t as powerful and might not get the best 3rd party support. This very question can doom the console to be another Wii U even though its sales have been good so far. So how do you win the people who are worried about the third-party support and the occasional exclusive releases? Simple, they revive the Gamecube. Releasing classics like Metroid Prime and Wind Waker on the Virtual Console would help convince those who are still on the fence about the console.

Gamecube revival

Nintendo has released the perfect console for the Gamecube revival. The Switch has the joy cons, meaning they can recreate the GC controller for fans to buy. Personally, the GC controller is my second favourite controller of all time right behind the Playstation 2. Imagine being able to invite your friends over for some rounds in Melee! Not only is a great gaming nostalgia trip but it is also a great social nostalgia trip. People will be able to remember all the great moments they had alone or with friends and of course all Mario Party rivalries will be reborn. Aside from the home experience, now gamers can take their games everywhere. Mario Party on the plane is now possible, Double Dash is possible.

Gamecube revival

The Gamecube is one of Nintendo’s best consoles, but it is also one of the most loved consoles of all time and it only becomes more popular as time passes by. With a console like the Switch it would be dumb not to have a revival through Virtual Console or HD remakes at least. Dear Nintendo you are pushing the idea of a social console, so please whatever you do, give us the games we love to talk about and play. Now is the time for a Gamecube revival!
